5 Ideas That Will Make Your Baby Shower Stand Out

5 Ideas That Will Make Your Baby Shower Stand Out

Sep 17 2018

Baby showers are a beautiful time for the mama-to-be. She is surrounded by her closest friends while she is showered with gorgeous gifts.

Let’s be honest, though. Most baby showers are typically the same. Everyone stands around, eats, drinks, plays games and watches the mama-to-be open up all the onesies, baby bibs and toys. But instead of the same song and dance, maybe you want to go outside the box and do something different for your baby shower.

“There are new trends coming out all the time that spice up the typical baby shower,” says Lisa Wilson, a physician with Novant Health Providence OB/GYN. “Your friends and family will also appreciate something different, especially if they’ve been to dozens of baby showers.”

Invite the Boys

More and more couples are doing co-ed baby showers so that everyone feels included in the big lifetime event.

Bringing the boys along helps to create a cool and fun dynamic to the guest list. Plus, it’s fun to watch them take part in silly baby games that may or may not require them to wear a baby bib and drink out of a baby bottle.

Take the Shower Outside

Depending on the season, you can switch it up and have your baby shower outside instead of in someone’s home.

Providence OB/GYN in Charlotte put together some fun baby shower ideas that will make your event stand out from the rest.

You can make it a low-key baby shower by firing up the grill and turning it into a backyard BBQ baby shower.

You could also take the fancy route by renting a big tent and having the baby shower catered so you don’t have to worry about making all the food. You’re growing a little one inside of you; you have enough to worry about!

A Baby is Brewing

Charlotte is booming with breweries with great outdoor and indoor spaces, which makes it easy to rent a space at your favorite spot and have the baby shower there… even if you can’t enjoy a pint of beer.

The brewery location can create a more social and low-key vibe to your special event. It’s also a spot where you can have a co-ed baby shower so the dad-to-be can invite his friends for some beer and baby bibs.

Girls Night Out

Turn your baby shower into a girls night out with your closest friends and family, because once that little one arrives, those nights out may not happen as often.

Maybe you and your crew can make reservations at a nice restaurant that you’ve been dying to try or take your best girls out for a night of bowling.

Whatever you decide, make sure it’s a special night for you with those you care about the most.

Have A Spa Day

During your pregnancy, you should use any excuse you can to have a spa day and treat yourself!

Providence OB/GYN in Charlotte suggests having a spa day with your friends instead of a normal baby shower so you can treat yourself to a relaxing day.

Take your girls out for a day at the salon and get manicures, pedicures, facials and maybe even a massage. It’s a baby shower where everyone wins!

Then once you’re refreshed and relaxed, you and your baby shower crew can have a nice lunch where the gift opening can begin.

Whether it’s a girls night out or a co-ed baby shower, this special event should be a time to surround yourself with the people in your life that you love and to celebrate the little bundle of joy that’s about to come into this world.
